Dee Jethwa

 

Dee Jethwa is a trained social worker with a Masters in Social Work. Dee is a safeguarding children specialist having worked in the safeguarding sector for over 30 years as a safeguarding practitioner, supervisor, project manager, regional advisor (Asia) trainer and consultant in a large number of statutory, and voluntary organisations, international NGOs and grant making foundations.

 

Dee has worked in several countries, providing strategic direction for safeguarding and developing tools and resources to operationalise safeguarding policy. Dee has extensive experience of conducting safeguarding reviews, developing safeguarding measures and capacity building in both national and international contexts. She is highly skilled in assessing organisational needs, developing participatory training materials with excellent facilitation skills for effective training. Dee was the recipient of the Social Worker of the Year Award in 2009 and was one of 8 candidates short listed for the NSPCC/Association of Child Protection Professional's Safeguarding Trainer of the Year Award in 2019. Dee was a key contributor to the initial Keeping Children Safe training and practice materials. Dee is currently a trustee for Terre des hommes (Tdh) UK.
